Our Story

Pub With NO Booze was first conceived when its founder, second generation publican Anthony Hammond, gave the booze away. 

Giving up the booze triggered a crisis of identity for Anthony whose existence had been wrapped up in hotels and hospitality since growing up in country pubs. Fast forward some forty odd years later, and this adjustment forced him to reconsider  who he was in the hospitality industry, what he was doing to be a part of it and more importantly what he could do to move the needle on the acceptance of non alcoholic drinks in the industry and in society as a whole.

The inaugural PWNB event was held in October 2022 at the Victoria Hotel Footscray. All of the pub’s alcohol was stripped out, and was replaced with a selection of some of the finest non alcoholic offerings Australia has to offer. And so, Pub with NO Booze was born.

  • Pub With NO Booze  exists to show that cutting out or cutting back on the booze doesn't mean that you can't enjoy yourself or the local pub or bar or event.

  • PUB With NO Booze normalises alcohol-free socialising and creates a welcoming place to explore the world of non-alcoholic drinks.
